Brett Bigbee

When I lived in Maine, I used to visit two paintings by Brett Bigbee often. One was at the Portland Museum of Art and the other was at the Farnsworth.

The paintings were so lovely and serene, the color in them glows from deep within. Bigbee works very slowly, making about two paintings a year, so the presence that one of his images creates is quite magical. It's as if he stops time.

Find hid work at the Alexandre Gallery in New York.

Anna Pugh

At one point I was contacted by someone through email. She recommended that I look at Anna Pugh's paintings because she thought they might be similar to my artwork.

I enjoy her work because it feels like she makes her own rules as she goes. I also enjoy the anecdotes that she tells in her work. The imagery warms me heart is does!
